Update

Hi all,

Things took a bit of a turn for the worse for Tommy during the night. He took another tumble, and his wife, Kirsty, found him pretty much non-responsive, so called the ambulance. At hospital, it was discovered that Tommy has pneumonia in both lungs, and he is currently in the critical unit receiving treatment.

I was amazed and moved by the response to my post yesterday, with donations and well-wishes flooding in from all over the globe. Seeing so many people rally to help him was just incredible, and I can’t thank you all enough for your support.

The next 24 hours will be crucial to Tommy’s recovery, so please send all the good vibes, well-wishes, hopes and prayers that you can, and with a bit of luck he’ll be back blogging here in no time.

Thanks, everyone.

Barry

  2. Oh, gosh… really very sad to read this…how scary for Kirsty & the boys. No wonder he’d been feeling delirious if he was fighting pneumonia, bless him. He’s in the best hands possible to bring him back to full health with the team at the hospital, I’m sure. Definitely sending a shed-load of good wishes through the ether.

  8. Thank you so much for keeping us all updated. It must be such a scary time for his family and friends. I’m so sorry to hear about the pneumonia. It’s brutal at the best of times, never mind when you’re low on everything. Know that i’m thinking of him lots and praying for him – despite being of atheist persuasion!

  23. So very sorry to hear this, what an awful time poor Tommy is having. I’ve always thought this type of cancer must be one of the worst to have, simply because of where it is. Still hoping to donate but pay pal not do operating and I don’t know where to direct it. If there’s another way, please let me know!

    1. If you go to PayPal, login to your account and for the payment use Tommy’s gmail address as in the previous post to this one, that should work. I also had problems with the link when I used my iPad but it worked fine on my laptop. Hope that works! All you need is a PayPal account and his correct email address.
