Lots of people have been in touch to wish me well (thank you!), and to ask if there is any way they can help me out.

You may or may not be aware that a good portion of any author’s income comes from visiting schools, running workshops and giving talks about my work as an author and helping to inspire a love of reading for pleasure.

For the past ten years, I’ve visited at least 70 different schools per year. But now I’ve had to close my calendar and cancel bookings.  I doubt I will be able to resume my author events programme until early in 2017.

Through one diagnosis, I lost around 50% of my earnings overnight – and that’s hard to deal with.

So, how can you help?

There are three ways at present…

First – you could buy my books!  Even royalties I receive 12 to 18 months down the line would be very welcome indeed.

We’re hoping to set up a small online shop here soon but, in the meantime, please visit either your local independent bookshop or, if you would prefer to buy on Amazon, go there via this link below (it’s an affiliate link that earns me a couple of extra pennies on every sale):

Second – donate via PayPal! Just the link to the right.

Finally – become a patron!
(then click on ‘Why Tommy Donbavand is on Patreon’)

I really don’t want to feel like I’m begging, or asking for handouts – so I’ve found a way to earn through the one skill this disease has thankfully left me able to do…  I can write.  In fact, I’m about to have lots of writing time on my hands!

If you support me on Patreon I will create exclusive content of all kinds for my patrons: stories, poetry, articles, jokes, lesson plans, class worksheets and much more.  I will also offer writing advice for anyone who has ever wanted to put pen to paper.

I’ll tell you how to plot, build a world, create characters, complete a draft, rewrite, and then submit to publishers and agents or self-publish your work on the Kindle.

If you’ve read this far, I’m very grateful.  If you are able to support me – then I can’t thank you enough.
